The Ultimate Guide to French Press Cold Brew Coffee

This is an easy method for making Daymaker cold brew coffee at home using a French press.

Cold brewing coffee results in a super smooth and rich tasting coffee drink that's low acid. This is especially true when you use a superior quality coffee like Daymaker Coffee Cold Brew that is specifically roasted and blended to taste fantastic when cold brewed.

Here's what you'll need:

Steps:

  1. Grind the coffee to a course grind.
  2. Fill the French press with cold water, almost to the top.
  3. Add the correct ratio of course ground coffee to the amount of water in the French press and then stir to wet all the grinds.
  4. Put the lid on the French press and let it steep in a fridge for 18-22 hours.
  5. Next, slowly press down the plunger. It's best to then pour the coffee into a separate jug to keep in the fridge.
  6. Rinse out the French press for next time.

To Drink:

  • Pour the chilled cold brew coffee over ice and if you like you can sweeten it and/or add dairy or non-dairy.
  • Stir and ENJOY!

Coffee to Water Ratio:

For a ready-to-drink strength, you can aim to use 14–15 ml of water for each gram of coffee used. For a 750ml French press, add ~55g of coffee.
